Happy Baby

Evan is ALWAYS so happy and smiles most of the time but for the first time last week we got to hear his laugh. He has been "talking" to us for a while now but last Tuesday night he started laughing out loud for the first time. It is the cutest and sweetest laugh I have ever heard.

Last Tuesday night, I went to a Women on Mission group meeting and Evan stayed home with his daddy. When I got home, Eric was so excited to tell me that Evan had laughed out loud; however, Eric was a little sad that I was not able to hear it with him. He said he ran to get the camera but by the time he got it on.....he could not get him to laugh anymore. I was just glad Eric was the one who got to hear that sweet laugh for the first time. Since then we have both heard him laugh several times. I hope to get a video of him laughing on the camera soon. As soon as that happens, I will get it posted so you can hear how cute his little laugh sounds.

January Tornado

Wednesday evening parts of Sulphur Springs got hit by a tornado. Eric and I did not even know anything was going because the storm did not hit out near our house. However, Eric's parent's house was hit by the tornado. We drove out there first thing Thursday morning and it looked like a bomb had exploded. Eric's parents were not hurt during the storm but much of their property was damaged.

They lost 12 trees but not a single one fell on the house. God is Good!

This is part of their backyard. They have a lot of shingle damage to the house but only one small hole in the roof.

Look at the cup of water.....the boat was picked up and moved side ways by the tornado but the cup of water did not budge. Incredible!

This is the side of their house that leads to the backyard.

They have a LOT of clean-up to do but we are very thankful they were not hurt!

Our Sweet Baby Girl!

On Monday evening, we went to Stork Vision in Tyler and had a 4-D sonogram of Eden. It is just amazing to me how much she has grown since our last sonogram. Evan went with us and he also loved getting to see his sissy. Just 10 and a half more weeks and she will be here for us to love on.

At first, she wanted to hide her face with her hands and feet but in the end we got to see her precious face.

I don't know how she does it. Her hand and foot are both in front of her face in this picture.

She has such a beautiful face. I can't wait to kiss on it when she arrives.

I think she is trying to blow her Mommy, Daddy and Bubba a kiss in this picture.

Our Silly Boy!

Nana and Grandaddy brought Evan the cutest suit that came with a vest, hat and bow tie. We could not resist the urge to try on the hat and bow tie to see how cute it would look on him.

He looks pretty surprised with how great he looks. What a silly face!

Evan is doing very well. He is starting to teeth. I am quickly finding out that Baby Orajel is one of my new best friends. That medicine works wonders and super quick. We can't feel any teeth starting to come in yet but he is chewing and drooling on everything.

Last night, I weighted him on our scales at home and we think he weights about 16 pounds. We also measured him this afternoon and he is measuring about 24 inches. At two months he weighted 13.5 pounds and was 23 inches long...so we are growing very quickly. I know when Eden arrives that Evan is really going to look huge compared to her.

Eden is also doing very good. She is moving like crazy in my tummy. The doctor says that she is just where she needs to be. I am 29 weeks today and feeling great. Tomorrow we are going to have a 4-D sonogram done in Tyler. This is just something Eric and I want to have done so we can see more of Eden. I hope she is ready to smile for the camera! Check back in a couple of days and I should have some pictures posted of her.

3 Months Old

Evan turns 3 months old today. Eric and I cannot believe how fast he is growing. It seems like everyday we can tell he has grown or learned something new.

Here are a few of our accomplishments this month:
-Sleeps for 10 to 11 hours a night
-Holds he head up with no problem
-Weights around 15 pounds and is very long
-Nearly rolls over...can get on his side but just cannot get over yet.
-Loves to play and kick water out of his bath
-Recognizes his mommy and daddy. Smiles really big when he sees us!
- Talks to you when you are talking to him. Makes a growling noise that is super cute!
- Wears number 2 diapers
- Wears 3 to 6 month clothes
- Eats about 6 ounces every feeding and takes 7 ounces of a cereal bottle at bedtime.
-And sadly....does not really like to be rocked to sleep. After his bottle, he prefers to be laid in his bed and fall asleep on his own.

Rub a Dub Dub...It's Time for the Tub!

Every night at 7:45, if you come by our house, this is what you will find.... a little boy who loves when his daddy gives him a bath.

Eric is the one who gives Evan a bath every night. I like to joke and say that I don't even know if I would know what to do. I am so thankful that my husband is such a hands on daddy!

Even if Evan is really fussy before bath time, he gets so excited when he gets into the tub. In the past couple of weeks, he has learned that he can splash water out of the tub when he kicks his legs. Good thing his bathtub fits over the sink!

Eric always puts bubbles in Evan's bath. They have lots of fun makes bubble hair styles and bubble beards. When the bath is over, Evan usually has bubbles all over him.
