Merry Christmas

Sure wish I knew what he was saying!

Oh what a sweet face our little girl has!

Our two sweet Babies!

He was so amazed with the dancing Santa.

We took these pictures at the Christmas Train. A family in our area host the Christmas Train every year and it is free train rides for all ages. During the wait for the train and the ride the family uses the time to share the birth of Christ with everyone. Thank you to the Screws family who host the train and are sharing the real story of Christmas.

Happy Birthday Jesus!

Our Trip to the Christmas Tree Farm

Thanksgiving weekend we took our annual trip to the Christmas Tree Farm. Evan and Eden had a great time playing in the trees while Eric and I looked for the "Perfect" tree. After looking and looking we found a tree that looked just right for us! Eric and Evan got to work on cutting it down while Eden and I enjoyed watching.

Eden loves the outdoors and had a great time playing in the trees. She is not scared of a little grass and dirt.

Evan wanted to help do everything. He loved getting to help with the tree.

Eden watches everything Evan does. They don't get very far from each other.

We had a wonderful time and look forward to many more trips in years to come!

Happy Thanksgiving

Eric and I have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and were exciting to spend the day with our two sweet kiddos. Eric got up this morning and made us all pumpkin pancakes. He made the pancakes and then used cookie cutters to cut them into special shapes. Eden just ate a tiny bite but Evan LOVED them.

Thank you Daddy for such a GREAT breakfast this morning!

Fall is in the Air!

Just wanted to give you an update on both of the kids. We went to the Dallas Arboretum this weekend and Eric took some wonderful pictures. To see all of them you are welcome to go to our photo site and check them out. There is a link to our photo site on the left-hand side bar.

Evan is growing and learning something new everyday. He now weighs over 25 pounds and is 30 inches tall. He is talking so much and repeating everything. He can say: read, ball, Mama, Daddy, Sissy, shoe, bo-bo, poo-poo, bath, sock, bottle, brown bear (from one of his favorite books), big buck (that is his daddy's favorite), duck, sit (he loves to say this to Toby and Tucker), book and much more.....those are the ones that come to mind quickly. He also knows what all of these words mean. He can go get his shoes when asked and he loved to get books and chase you around the house while saying, "Read, read". And believe me, he will not stop following you until you stop and read his book to him. He LOVES to read!! He would like us to read to him all day and night if that was possible.

He also loves his sissy. Just last night Eric was putting Eden to bed and she was having a hard time falling asleep. Eric had her in the rocking chair but she was very upset. Evan came into the room, walked over to the chair where Eric and Eden were and handed Eden a stuffed animal. He is SO SWEET to his sissy!

Evan's ears are doing great and we could not be happier with the tubes in his ears. They have made our little boy feel so much better.
He is walking and trying to run everywhere. Just this week he has learning to turn circles while standing up and he thinks spinning around is pretty great!

Eden is growing lots too. She is super active now and extremely nosey . Guess that is a girl for ya! She has been crawling for about a month and in the past couple of weeks has been pulling up on everything. She would much rather be standing then sitting on her bo-bo.

She has also went from baby noises to putting some sounds together. Her favorite thing to say right now is "ba-ba-ba-ba-ba" and she says it a LOT! We think she is going to be very outgoing.

Eden had tubes in her ears a couple of weeks ago. The doc said that her ears were a lot worse then Evan's so it has taken a little longer for the fluid inside of her ears to clear up. Eden has also started seeing a Pediatric Pulmonologist. Since August she has been congested, wheezing and coughing and nothing seems to be clearing it up. This past Tuesday, Eric and I took her to Medical City and were very pleased with our doctor there. Right now they will not diagnose her with anything until she has several test ran to get a better idea of what is going on. He suspects that she has Asthma with allergies and maybe some acid reflux or aspiration with her formula but will not say quite yet.
For now, until we get a better idea, we are on three different breathing machine medicines, steroids, allergy medicine, singular and antacids. Eric and I don't think she her breathing is "normal sounding" yet but we do think she is sounding some better.

Now, don't worry about her too much...if you see her she does not appear to have any problem...she is always happy, smiling, and into everything!

We would love for you to pray for her next week as she has a test on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then the following Tuesday (November 30th) she will have two more test and then see the doctor again that afternoon.

Eric and I are excited that we are now on the road to helping our little girl breathe better! After a few months of frustration, we now feel like we are making progress!!!!

More Ear Tubes...Are coming our way!

Tomorrow morning, at 7:30am, Eden will be getting tubes in her ears. Eric and I are really excited for her because she really needs to have some relief. For the past two months she has had a ear infection that will not clear up. She has been on several antibacits and had a couple of shots but nothing seems to be doing the trick.

We went last week to see Dr. Hahn, at Medical City, and he said she had so much fluid behind her ears that she had to have ear tubes as soon as he could get her in. We were so thankful they could get her in this Thursday.

Tubes have been one of the best things we have done for Evan so we can't wait to see how they are going to help Eden!

Happy 1st Birthday

We can't believe our little boy turned 1 year old on Saturday. We had a great time celebrating his birthday with family and friends at a nearby lake.

He loved eating his pumpkin cupcake that his daddy baked just for him. When he was finished eating, he was covered from head to toe in icing but....he loved every minute of it!

Then when it came time to open presents he was just interested for a few minutes. I got to open most of the presents but it was lots of fun and besides that is what a Momma is for.

We had a great day and can't believe how fast time passes. Seems like just yesterday we were bring his home from the hospital!

Thanks to everyone who helped make Evan's 1st Birthday so Special! He is very loved.

Evan Gets Ear Tubes

At 6:20 am, last Thursday morning, Eric and I arrived with Evan at Medical City Dallas for his ear tube procedure. We have been battling ear infections for several months and were happy for our little boy to finally get so relief! As you can see from the picture, when we arrived Evan was very happy and enjoyed playing with his favorite friend, Spot.

We were taken back to a room where we changed Evan into his tiger hospital gown and the nurse prepped him for his procedure. The nursing staff commented on how happy he was to not have had anything to eat since the night before.

They came and took him back around 7:30 and by 7:40 they were all finished with him. We waited for him while in recovery and then he was brought to us until we were able to head home.

By 8:45 am we were on the road home. He was fussy for the first 30 minutes or so but after that was a very happy little boy. Since then he is doing great! We are very thankful for Dr. Hahn and Jesus Christ for taking great care of our little boy on that day.

*On a side note, I know my goal was to update at least every other day but...our computer DIED! I will try and get back on track now so expect more updates more frequently.
