Run Eric Run

This past weekend Eric and I participated in the Susan G. Komen Rock and Roll Half Marathon in Dallas. I ran the relay marathon with a friend and Eric ran his first ever half marathon.

I started the race with Eric and passed off to my running partner at mile 7.1 but Eric kept going for another 6 miles. After I finished my part of the relay, I got on the Dart Train and was able to make it back to the finish line to see Eric when he crossed. My parents had brought Evan and Eden to the finish line to meet me so we were all there to cheer him on.

I have to say that when I could see him coming near the finish line I got a little emotional. I was very proud of him and all of his hard work. The kids faces just lite up when they saw him coming and Evan was waving and yelling, "Daddy!" I was very glad that we were there.

Here is a video that my dad took as Eric was coming close to the finish line.

Way to Go Eric! We are proud of you!

More Tubes Are Coming Soon....Very Soon!

Eden received her first set of ear tubes in November and tomorrow she will be getting her second set. Since her tubes she has still be having ear infections and for the past couple of months both of her tubes have been stopped up. About three weeks ago her ENT cleaned out her ears and unstopped the tubes but by the next week they were stopped up again. Tomorrow her Doc will go in and put bigger tubes in and hope that with the bigger tubes the fluid behind her ears will be able to drain out properly.

We are praying that her procedure goes well and her new tubes will help her ears to stay ear infection free!

We are also so thankful that she has such a wonderful doctor who is absolutely in love with our sweet little girl! She has captured the hearts of all the office staff.

Let It Snow...Again!

On Thursday evening the weatherman was predicting a light dusting of snow for the next morning but when we woke up there was already seven inches of snow on the ground and it was still snowing! School was canceled so I got to spend a GREAT day at home with my babies.
Then this morning Eric went out and built them a super snowman. The snowman even had antlers on its head so.....we are calling it our Snowbuck.
The weatherman is predicting more snow for Wednesday so we will see what happens. Maybe we will get to build another snowman very soon.

Evan was trying to measure the snow and the final measurement was 8 1/2 inches. I think the weatherman was a little off.

Eden is getting to be a big girl. This has been a big week for her. She has learned to wave, clap and even walk. Who knows what next week will hold?

Evan loves a hat. He calls anything that he puts on his head a hat.

Eden thinks her mommy is her Best Friend and I would not have it any other way.

Nana taught Evan how to sign "more" and he loves it. He yells "more more" while he signs...so smart!

Those are two very cute kids!

Future Deer Hunters

The week after Christmas Eric and I, along with Grandaddy and Nana, took the kids down to the deer lease for the week. Nana and I mostly hung out with the kids in the camper at Deer Camp while Grandaddy and Daddy went out to hunt. The kids had fun and were very good while on their first hunting trip together.

We did take them out and let them see what hunting was all about. Both of them loved playing in the deer stand and looking at Nana and Grandaddy through the windows. Eric and I can't wait till they are old enough to get out there and really enjoy hunting.

Both of them look like they are already hunting pros!

He is ready!

Our Future Hunters!

She already looks like a natural.

Next year, maybe he will get to see a deer out of that window or as he likes to say a "Big Buck!"
