He has the FEVER!
Last weekend...
When Eric got home from duck hunting, the kids rushed outside to see their Daddy and his ducks!
Evan defiantly has the Duck Fever... Just like his Daddy! He will carry the dead ducks around with him as long as we will let him.
But...
He was not to happy with us when we took one of his ducks away so his Sissy could have a turn.
As you can tell, she was not sure if she liked holding the dead duck or not! She was careful and held her arm very far away from her side!
As many ducks as Eric brings home during one season, she is sure to grow to love DEAD DUCKS just as much as her brother!

Here Fishy Fishy!
For Evan's birthday Eric and I bought him a fish aquarium. Last weekend Eric got it all set up and ready to go. He was excited about the aquarium without any fish but....
As of today, he can't contain his excitement.
We went to Rockwall after church and bought him 3 guppies. When we put the fish in the fish tank, he couldn't keep his eyes off of them.
Tonight when he went to bed he had to tell his fishies goodnight and we left the aquarium light on so he could see them as he went to sleep!

Ready or SNOT! Here it Comes!
When you are sick with the stomach virus, I guess you really don't care what your hair looks like!!
This week we have had the stomach virus, all four of us, and now Eden has a sinus infection and bronchitis.
But, so far, we are doing a lot better than last year. Starting in August of last year, Eden got a cold and she just could not get over it. We went to the pediatrician many times, the ENT and had tubes, twice, and eventually to a pulmonologist to help us with her lungs. After many rounds of medicine and breathing treatments, from August till March, she finally seemed to get better. Then to our surprise we made it all spring and summer without a cold or trip to the doctor. We were very very thankful!
She had a cold last month but, unlike last year, she went to the doctor and was able to get over it in a few days.
Now, she is sick again but we are hopeful that she will get well quickly and be snot free very soon!
We are praying that this cold and flu season is much easier for our little girl.

Here Comes the Birthday Boy!
Saturday, we celebrated Evan's 2nd Birthday. We decorated the party with Fire Engines and held our celebration at the City Park!
We used red, white and black as our colors with an assortment of fire engines as most of the decorations.
I made red velvet cupcakes for dessert and added a few homemade cupcake toppers for decoration.
Everyone had a fire hat to wear and since we were at the park there were lots of activities to keep us busy!
Evan loved his birthday shirt and fireman boots. I think he would wear them everyday if I would let him.
We actually washed the shirt on Sunday night so he could wear it again on Sunday morning to church and YES...
he did wear his fireman boots to church too.
But don't worry...
Eden had a shirt made for Evan's party too. We didn't want her to feel left out!
She was very excited because her shirt had a puppy on it.
When she put on the shirt she said, "Puppy, Woof, Woof!"
Throughout the day she would point to the puppy and say it again... just in case we forgot what it was!
Evan waited very patiently for his presents. Actually, after the first couple he was not very interested anymore.
He just wanted us to let him play with the ones he had already opened. But when he opened his first present he looked pretty excited
and said to me, "We didn't have to pay for it!" At least we know he is learning that most things cost money!
Sissy was very content to watch her Bubba. Also notice... She has another pair of someone else's flip flops on.
She is a shoe fanatic!!!
But Evan was probably most excited that he BEST FRIEND came to his birthday party!
He loves her so so much and she is so wonderful with him!
Gosh! We love that Girl!
We can't believe he is 2 years old already! Time sure does fly by.
We hope you have a wonderful birthday Bubba! We love you!

Fireman to the Resue!
Eric and I cannot believe that in less than one week our little boy will be 2 years old.
It seems like just a few days ago that our phone rang in the middle of the night and the voice on the other end was telling us that Evan was on his way! We are so thankful that God placed Evan in our lives on October 9, 2009. On the day Evan was born, he was surrounded with tremendous amounts of love. His birth family was there to welcome him into this world and was so very much in love with him. We arrived and could not wait to see our little boy and show him how much we already loved him! What an emotional day that was but one of the best days in our lives! We look at him now and know God had a plan! A wonderful plan! That we are so thankful his birth family made us a part of!
We love you Evan Michael!
At 2 years old.....
You are a Super Talker!
You can sing any song you have heard!
"Do Lord" is your favorite at the moment!
You have many many books memorized!
You can say your "ABC's" and count to 10!
You can dance to music and play the piano!
You love to be outside doing anything!
You love boots!
And right now you want to be a Fireman!
We love you Bubba! More than you will ever know!

When the weather is just right...
We like to spend our evenings on "Adventure Walks!"
While we walk, Sissy likes to wear Big Girl shoes
and Bubba loves his Fireman Boots!
Then on occasion we run to fast and get a "Boo-Boo!"
After we get a Band-Aid, we are ready to go again!
But...when the sun starts to go down
and we are heading inside for the night,
we fight over who pushes the trash can to the house!
Come join us some evening...we are always ready for our next ADVENTURE!
